After losing an energy project bid to Altresco Financial last spring, J. Makowski Co. of Boston is now looking to purchase one of its competitors.
Makowski is now in buyout discussions with Altresco Financial, which last June won a now-disputed Boston Edison request for proposals (RFP) for 132 megawatts of energy. The two have signed a letter of intent for the pending acquisition, but neither company provided details on price or just when a final agreement would be reached.
According to Doug Egan, manager of Makowski's electric projects group, his company has been in discussions with the smaller, Denver-based company for about five months.
