THE company which built the Belfast Odyssey complex has been selected to develop a nearby site into a pounds 75 million mixed use scheme, which will create 2,500 jobs.
The Belfast-based Sheridan Group, which was also at the forefront of regenerating the Dublin Road and creating the Golden Mile, has been tasked with revamping QueenOs Quay, on the east bank of the Lagan.
Laganside Corporation, the organisation responsible for kick-starting the transformation of the cityOs waterfront area, revealed plans for the scheme earlier this year.
It will amount to 750,000 sq ft of residential provision, offices, a hotel, retail, waterfront cafes and other leisure facilities, plus car parking.
The 3.5 acre site, which extends from the QueenOs Bridge End to the M3 road and rail bridge, lies within a major traffic corridor serving east Belfast from theEemerging waterfront at the Odyssey and city centre.
