Film: War of the Worlds

Cert: 12A

Time: 116 mins

Rating: HHHHH

I FOUND War of the Worlds totally terrifying, and was absolutely exhausted when I left the cinema. ItOs not good to hold your breath for 116 minutes.

With echoes of HG WellsO seminal scary storyline, and a setting of the scene by WellsO updated words in voice-over by Morgan Freeman, the tale illustrates the capacity of the Victorian writer to still scare the pants off you. Combined with the threat of 21st century international terrorism, one of the most major frighteners in WOTW is the notion that the alien has invaded our safe spaces.
