THE Prince of Wales, his wife Camilla, and sons William and Harry cost each taxpayer four pence last year in Government grants, it was revealed yesterday.

Of the 61p which the monarchy cost every taxpayer, the PrinceOs household accounted for less than seven per cent.

CharlesOs private income rose by 11 per cent during the year to more than pounds 13 million, according to the PrinceOs annual review.

In addition, he received Government grants of pounds 2,688,000 for official travel, communications and property maintenance, costing each taxpayer 4p.

He received pounds 13,274,000 from the Duchy of Cornwall, compared with pounds 11,913,000 in 2003-04.
