NORTHERN Ireland is set to be wrapped in white today as the Province makes it own special contribution to the fight against poverty around the globe.
Organised by the Make Poverty History campaign, todayOs White Band Day marks the beginning of a week when the plight of those living in developing nations will be top of the international agenda.
Tomorrow will not only see the biggest ever mass concert when Live8 takes to the stage in cities around the world, but also a mass anti-poverty rally in Scotland, with hundreds of thousands set to take to the streets of Edinburgh.

However, not all roads lead across the Irish Sea, and back in Northern Ireland events are also being staged to help raise awareness about the sheer scale of a problem that claims the lives of 30,000 children around the world every day.
