REPRESENTATIVES from the Parades Commission are taking part in a conference aimed at helping young people encourage change.

Dr Michael Boyle and Elaine McConnell are at a two-day conference in Dundalk to examine the crucial role young people can play in important issues such as parading.

The conference is called Talking Citizenship 2 ETH Walking the Walk and will finish at the Radisson Park Inn Hotel this afternoon.

Over 70 people are at the conference, including 30 young people from a variety of organisations across Northern Ireland.

Public Achievement, a Northern Ireland youth civic programme, is running the event, and organiser Laura McFall believes the attendance of the Parades Commission and other bodies conveys an important message.
