A PROTEST by Sinn Fein failed to prevent yesterday afternoonOs public meeting of Ballymoney District Policing Partnership going ahead in Dunloy.
Protesters lined the route through the village to St JosephOs Parish Centre, holding placards calling for the release of Sean Kelly.
Among their ranks were Moyle District Council chairman, Sinn Fein councillor Oliver McMullan, and Ballymena Borough CouncilOs first Sinn Fein representative, Cllr Monica Digney.
In view of opposition from some residents to the staging of the first DPP meeting in Dunloy, a large number of police officers were tasked to the area in case of trouble.
The pre-meeting protest, however, passed off peacefully.
