THE Orange Order last night insisted the annual erection of an Orange arch in a Co Antrim village will go ahead despite a campaign of opposition by republicans.
Orange district secretary Jim Tinsley hit back at claims by Sinn FeinOs Paul Butler that GlenavyOs predominantly nationalist community view the arch as Oprovocative and offensiveO, insisting it will be unveiled as planned next week.
The DUP councillor accused Mr Butler of trying to perpetuate the trouble that has marred the build-up to the marching season.
OI attended a meeting with community and political representatives last week in Glenavy and not one single person raised any concerns about the Twelfth parade or the arch,O said Mr Tinsley.
