The BBC-backed film The Life and Death of Peter Sellers dominated nominations for the US TV Emmy awards announced today, picking up the biggest tally of 16 nominations.
The film about the dark genius of the comedian, made by UK independent producer Company Pictures and part-financed by BBC Films, was broadcast as a TV movie in the US by Home Box Office.
It could repeat its Golden Globe success in January, by picking up best made-for-TV movie and best actor for its star, Geoffrey Rush, who portrayed Sellers.
