Muscat Septech Emirates has once again been requisitioned by Omani contractors to build two additional pontoons in Al Ashkarah, south of Muscat, an additional pontoon in Lima in the Khasab region and a further two, still being executed, in Sohar
The move forms part of the government's objective to provide better facilities to support its local fishing industry. "Based on our earlier success, Omani contractors approached us to install more pontoons in other fishery harbours," says David Heffernan, managing director, Septech Emirates. "Prior to these installations, local fishermen had nowhere to secure their boats. The floating, concrete pontoons we installed require minimal maintenance and were locally manufactured in our purpose-built factory in Ajman
