Two students of the University of Buea, UB, have been detained at the Buea public security police station on impersonation allegation.

A male student, Alexis Atemkeng, a level 300 student of the Department of Zoology, Faculty of Science, was allegedly caught writing a Chemistry course, CHM242, Principles of Organic Chemistry

for a female level 200 student, of the Department of Environmental Sciences in the same Faculty. Both students go by the same name and dates of birth.

The invigilator is said to have discovered in the examination hall that the matriculation number the male student had on his identity card was different from the one he wrote on the exam script.

When the matter was taken for verification at the UB registration booth, it was discovered that there were two files with the same names, one for a male, Atemkeng Alexis and the other for a female Atemkeng Alexis.
