Kuala Lumpur, July 12 (PTI) Most government-run hospitals in Malaysia lack air-sterlising equipment, exposing hospital staff to infection and at least 25 doctors, nurses contacted tubeculosis last year, media reports said here Tuesday.

"Of the country's 135 hospitals, only three have sufficient air-sterlising equipment while another three have limited equipment resources," New Straits Times newspaper said quoting Health Ministry sources.

Key areas where cross-contamination usually occurred included the doctor's examination rooms, ICUs and coronary care units, the daily said.
