Was it a coincidence that articles about the Bolton nomination battle and the continuing ignominy that is the situation in Sudan appeared in the same issue of NATIONAL REVIEW ("Blowing Their Stack" by Byron York and "About Sudan" by Jay Nordlinger, May 23)?

Regarding Bolton, rarely have we seen such a querulous debate concerning such trivial charges. Byron York is right that the Democrats' calculation appears to be that a defeat for Bush on any front will weaken support for his larger agenda.

Meanwhile, Jay Nordlinger's piece compares U.N. inaction in Rwanda to what is now occurring in Sudan. He notes that President Bush viewed the film Hotel Rwanda and even met with its hero, Paul Rusesabagina, who at risk to his own life ...
