Connecticut lawmakers are in the process of establishing civil unions for homosexuals. It's a bad idea. While there may be good reasons to tinker with laws so as to help unmarried people who are living together--be they gay lovers or roommates who are not having sex with each other--we see no very good reason for the government to recognize same-sex sexual relationships as such.
