In this term the Supreme Court accommodated government support of religious expression in its three major church-state decisions. But it was qualified accommodation.

The guiding interpretive principles the court employs are:

_Separation of government and religion.

_Government neutrality toward religion.

_Absence of excessive entanglement between the two.

_And government accommodation of religion.
