The "symphony" nomenclature notwithstanding, the Widor piece that highlights this release is for organ only. Although a bit turgid sounding if one's idea of good organ music begins with Bach and ends with Mendelssohn, the compositions by all three of these individuals are often exciting to listen to. The sense of space is huge (probably too huge for some listeners), with plenty of recorded reverb.
