Jul. 7--New seven- and 10-year government bond benchmarks will be set up in early 2006 to help support future fund-raising by the state, Pannee Stawarodom, the director-general of the Public Debt Management Office, told a press conference yesterday.
She said at least 40 billion baht worth of bonds would be issued each year for each of the two terms, amounting to at least 80 billion baht in new debt per year.
Bond issues would likely be scattered throughout the year, to help build up a continuous series of issues to support the government's aim of developing new benchmarks for medium-term debt.
