Jul. 5--Top executives and directors of three companies popular among day traders announced their resignations yesterday as investors continued to sell off stocks over worries of a more aggressive regulatory environment to clamp down on market speculation.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand index closed down 5.72 points to 669.78 on thin trade worth 15.5 billion baht, building on last Thursday's 10-point drop. Friday was a market holiday.
Shares of Picnic Corp also continued their freefall, closing down 15.51 percent to 4.14 baht, in trade worth 2.79 billion baht, as more details emerged about an accounting scandal at the cooking gas company.
