Jul. 4--The government should consider a plan to raise the water level in the reservoir of the Bhumibol Dam with an investment of 40 billion baht to seriously address the water shortage in the Chao Phraya Basin, says Siriporn Sailasuta, director-general of the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency.
A feasibility study of the plan, financed by the department and conducted by the Thai-owned consulting firms Panya Consultant, South East Asia Technology and Potential Engineering Consultant, found that the project was economically viable.
