Jul. 4--TT&T Plc has applied for licences with the National Telecommunications Commission to operate Internet and WiMax services in a move to change the focus of its operations which are currently burdened by high operating costs.
Earlier, the provincial fixed-line telephone operator petitioned the NTC to push TOT Corporation to reallocate new home phone numbers to it, saying that it needs at least 100,000 new numbers to meet growing demand in the northern provinces.
