Center Financial has carved a profitable niche in the competitive California banking market.
The firm got its start as a full-service commercial bank, founded in 1986 in Los Angeles. The bank offers a full suite of financial services, targeting small to medium Korean-American businesses.
Center's bread and butter is the L.A. area, where it operates 14 offices. In its 19 years of operations, Center Financial has grown to $1.39 billion in assets from just $4 million.
The company has started expanding its scope. Center opened its first full-service branch in Seattle, joining Chicago as the firm's only non-L.A.-area banking office. Center also operates loan production offices in Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Honolulu, Houston, Dallas, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
