If the name Micros Systems sounds vaguely familiar but you don't know why, take a look at the register the next time you go up to the cashier to pay at a restaurant, hotel or store.
Chances are you've seen the Columbia, Md.-based firm's payment systems at some of the places you frequent. The maker of point-of-sale and data management systems in the U.S. boasts customers ranging from Four Seasons, Hilton Hotels and Hyatt to Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Ruth's Chris and even MGM Mirage.
It has more than 200,000 systems in restaurants, hotels, casinos and retailers in over 130 countries.
