Bomb kills 11 soldiers in Russia

Authorities believe a radio-controlled bomb caused a blast that killed Russian troops riding in a truck in the capital of the Muslim Dagestan region bordering Chechnya. 28 people were hurt. In the past 10 years, Chechen rebels have staged numerous attacks in Dagestan. Criminal gangs and ethnic tensions also have been blamed for a spike in violence this year.
