Jul. 1--The government of Andhra Pradesh state of India has taken to the road to try to promote tourism from abroad, kicking off its Southeast Asia tour in Bangkok with a show that state officials hope will increase the proportion of its tourism revenue from 7 percent to 20 percent.
Geeta Reddy, the state minister of tourism and sugar, accompanied the show from its opening in Sri Lanka to Thailand, and will next take the presentation to Malaysia. The show then will go to Singapore, Japan and Korea.
