Northern Harmony is a Vermont-based group of singers and instrumentalists with an unusual repertory. As its name suggests, the group specializes to some degree in shape-note hymns and in the anthems and "fuguing tunes" of eighteenth-century New England, but as this disc demonstrates, it is also very comfortable with vocal music from Bulgaria, Georgia, Italy, and Corsica, as well as compositions for a cappella choir by modern composers (some written in shape-note style).
