The Norwegian telecom company Telenor, the owner of the cable and satellite company Canal Digital, and the Norwegian free-to-air TV channel TV2 Norge have joined forces to establish a subscription-based sports channel for the Norwegian market.
TV2 and Telenor won the rights to run the channel after bidding more than EUR150 million, seeing off competition from SBS Broadcasting and an alliance between the cable broadcaster MTG and the public service broadcaster NRK.
