Harvard researchers estimated the current housing boom has lasted for 13 consecutive years, the longest period since 1970. According to the State of the Nation's Housing 2005, authored by the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, home ownership hit an all-time high of 69 percent last year.
