Bristol University's social sciences blog, SOSIG Subject News, was a winner in last month's general election.
The General Election channel of SOSIG Subject News was cited by the British Council, the British Election Study and several universities as a key research resource for the election.
Paul Ayres, SOSIG research officer at the Institute for Learning and Research Technology, said the blog has a distributed team of contributors that keep it up to date.
He said: "The blog aims to bring the latest internet resources to the Social Science academic community by linking to the research sites behind the latest news."
It is one of the largest units of its kind in UK higher education, with around 60 staff and an annual turnover of nearly [pounds sterling]3m. It brings together expertise in digital libraries, internet developments, e-learning, semantic web and digital imaging.
