Users of the STN International online service for science and technology researchers are now being offered a new analysis and visualisation (A&V) tool, STN AnaVist.
Developed by Chemical Abstracts Service in the US and Germany's FIZ Karlsruhe, the software aims to give information professionals deeper insights into scientific literature and data extracted from STN databases. It will be officially released "this summer".
STN AnaVist will draw on information from three scientific resources: CAS's CAplus database of scientific literature and patent information, and the USPATFULL and PCTFULL patent databases containing the full text of US patents and Patent Co-operation Treaty (PCT) patents.
In a joint statement, the companies said that searchers will be able to assimilate and present information more effectively to support competitive intelligence, R&D strategy, and management decision-making.
