The United Nations General Assembly has approved a strategic document from its Committee on Information that will enable a radical modernisation of the library services run by the organisation.
The report states: "Technology and organisational change have provided opportunities for UN libraries to move from independent repositories to take up a new role as a network of knowledge-sharing communities".
