Jun. 22--Two manufacturing businesses are setting up shop in the Unifour, bringing roughly 200 new jobs to the Hickory metro area.

Ideaitalia, a company that assembles and ships bedroom furniture and entertainment centers, has taken over a former Hickory Chair plant in Conover, officials with the Catawba County Economic Development Corp. said.

And Alexander County officials on Monday announced that Paragon Films, an Oklahoma-based company that makes plastic film, is opening a plant in the Alexander Industrial Park.
