The West Central Division meeting during the MTNA National Conference in Seattle was attended by members representing all eight states in the division.
Congratulations go to two Missouri residents who received special recognition at the conference. Stefan Freund, assistant professor of composition and music theory at the University of Missouri-Columbia, was the commissioned composer for Missouri and selected as the 2004 MTNA-Shepherd Distinguished Composer of the Year. His composition, Screams and Grooves, was performed at the conference. Sara Renaud, also from Columbia, received the 2005 MTNA Studio Teacher Fellowship Award.
