Dialog has released a new version of its DialogLink tool, designed to help information professionals search Dialog's extensive database of content.
DialogLink 5, which is available as a free download, enables users to carry out a search and then take the content from the search, which is all tagged as XML, and import it directly into one of 20 pre-formatted Microsoft Word or Excel templates. Users can also create their own report templates, incorporating company or departmental logos.
"It makes it a lot easier for an information professional with less and less time to find and manipulate content, and it enables them to deliver it to their end users a lot faster," said Cynthia Murphy, Dialog's senior vice president for strategic marketing.
She added that information professionals in law firms carrying out patent research had told her the software would save them eight hours of work a week.
