Former government Chief Library Advisor, Peter Beauchamp, has been given notice to leave his position as Director of Library Services at Instant Library, as the library services provider re-brands itself as Tribal Technology, following a restructuring.
Beauchamp told IWR he was "shocked" and that the news "came out of the blue." Martin Lewis, the new managing director of Tribal Technology, refused to clarify why Beauchamp and Tribal Technology had parted company. An appeal was pending as IWR went to press.
In a long public service career, Beauchamp was Head of Local Government and Libraries and Chief Library Advisor to the Department of Culture Media and Sport. Beauchamp had been reluctant to leave the government post, "but they were persistent and I took the gamble."
