Jun. 6--The Board of Investment plans to offer its highest privileges to businesses related to natural gas for vehicles (NGV), a movement to support energy conservation.
The agency said that NGV currently was not popular among drivers due to the limited number of filling stations and the high cost of converting vehicles.
The government wants NGV to replace 10 percent of diesel and gasoline consumption in specific transport segments by 2008, with 180 stations, an increase from 31 at present. Officials say they want to see at least 180,000 NGV vehicles on the roads, compared with only 4,889 today.
