Judge nicks Gillette ads' claims
A federal judge in Conn. agreed with Schick Wilkinson Sword, the main razor competitor to Gillette, that Gillette's ads for its M3Power razor are "unsubstantiated and inaccurate." The ads claim the vibrating men's razor raises hair up and away from the skin. The judge issued a preliminary injunction barring the use of TV and print ads and said Gillette must change its packaging. Gillette, which is being bought by P&G, fell 1.5% to 53.05. Energizer, which owns Schick, edged up 10 cents to 64.17.
