It's been ten years since Gary Lineker began promoting Walkers crisps. Larissa Bannister talks to the man behind the campaign and discovers that he is much nicer than Lineker's TV alter ego.

There is more than one nice guy behind the decade-long Gary Lineker Walkers ad campaign. Martin Glenn, the president of PepsiCo UK & Ireland, is perhaps as deserving of the sobriquet as Lineker, the goody-two-shoes of football.

DDB's John Webster, who worked with Glenn on the campaign's launch, says he has never seen a bad side to him. Peter Souter, the former creative director at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Walkers' current agency, says the same. Yet Glenn has ...
