Jun. 3--The Cows for One Million Families project, one of the Thai Rak Thai party's election campaign promises, might fail and farmers could be victimised if they choose the wrong breeds to raise such as the Hindu-Brazil variety instead of local beef cattle.

A group of dairy farmers has raised the concern amid rumours among beef cattle farmers that Hindu-Brazil or Indo-Brazil calves could be sold at an attractive price of 100,000 baht each.

Such a high prices might encourage farmers to bring their own cows for artificial insemination by Hindu-Brazil studs under the project.
