Icahn renews Mylan Labs bid
The financier again offered to buy the generic drug maker for $20 a share, sending shares up 4.5% to 17.24. Carl Icahn made moves to buy Mylan Laboratories in Nov., when it was planning to buy King Pharmaceuticals. In Feb., Mylan canned its $4 bil buyout plan. Icahn is lobbying for a Mylan shareholder vote on the $5 bil deal.
** Hospira will buy medical device maker Physiometrix for $23 mil cash plus $1 mil in debt assumption. Physiometrix shareholders will get $1.59 per share cash. Hospira rose 1% to 38.49, while Physiometrix shot up 72 cents to 1.51.
