M.D.C. Holdings has been shaping a third-stage base since early March. It gapped up in heavy volume May 18, jumping above its 50-day moving average for the first time since March 10. It's been holding above that line.
The Denver-based company builds single-family homes and townhouses in Virginia and Maryland. Its home building units operate under the name Richmond American Homes. The company also originates and brokers mortgage loans for its buyers.
Its group, Building-Residential/Commercial is hanging tough at No. 31. Only four stocks in the 23-stock group have an Earnings Per Share Rating lower ...
