Jun. 1--Sampanh Insurance, the country's second largest auto insurer, has signed a deal with Toyota Metropolitan Ltd to purchase 130 cars to be used by customers when their vehicles are being repaired.

The deal is part of Sampanh's strategy to capture more private car clients, considered a lower insurance risk than commercial vehicles and leased cars.

"We plan this year to increase the proportion of private car clients to 60 percent of the portfolio from 50 percent currently, and to 70 percent over the next three years to diversify risks," said managing director Srisakdi na Nakorn.
