A group of southern Dallas community leaders have launched Texas' first minority-owned, for-profit business incubator to nurture small business in the economically depressed area.

Created by Unique VI Corp., a private investment group, ASC Executive Suites opened its doors in August and already has taken several start-up businesses into its fold. The incubator helps the companies control overhead by providing secretarial and technical services -- as well as managerial assistance -- to member tenants.
