Jan Oppenheimer, a customer service manager at the Teleflex Electronics facility in Sarasota, has won the 2005 Chairman's Award from the Teleflex Foundation. The award provides a $10,000 grant to a Teleflex employee who demonstrates community leadership through volunteerism. Oppenheimer, a member of the executive committee on the Humane Society of Sarasota County's board of directors, will give the Humane Society of Sarasota County $8,000; the remaining $2,000 will be given to an out-of-state animal shelter.
