SARASOTA -- It didn't take long.

Just a few months after the city drafted a new "no-lodging" ordinance aimed at preventing the homeless from camping outside, a public defender has stepped forward and labelled it unconstitutional.

"This is just another effort by the city of Sarasota to run the bums out of town," assistant public defender Chris Cosden said Friday, minutes after telling a judge that the law was too vague and made innocent conduct illegal.
