SEATTLE _ The Mariners and Athletics, bringing up the rear in the American League West, can at least take solace in the fact that the Angels are having nearly as much trouble as them scoring runs.

Los Angeles' 4-2 loss to the White Sox on Wednesday marked the 12th time in 22 games in May the Angels had been limited to three runs or less. They were hitting .230 in May, and .245 for the season, with a major-league-worst .297 on-base percentage.
