Pfizer may update Viagra packaging with vision warning.

May 28--Pfizer Inc. on Friday announced it is considering updating packaging materials for Viagra to include a warning about vision side affects after a small number of patients reported blindness while using the popular impotence pill.
The move comes after the federal Food and Drug Administration said it is monitoring possible connections between vision loss and the use of Viagra and competitors Cialis and Levitra.
While the vision problems are rare -- less than 50 cases for drugs that have been prescribed millions of times -- they come at a time when patients are increasingly concerned about the side affects of prescription medications.Over the past nine months drug companies have disclosed that patients using popular pain medications like Vioxx and Celebrex face an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
