May 27--Recently Mario and Julie Cote were at the Hollywood Home Depot, picking up light fixtures and a countertop to finish a remodeling project at their Hollywood home. But they may return for batteries when the hurricane sales tax holiday kicks off.

Running from June 1 through June 12, the holiday lets Floridians buy a basketful of hurricane preparation items ranging from coolers to lower-cost generators that will be shorn of their state and local option sales taxes.
