Deal would create area's largest multi-specialty group practice

WILKINS TOWNSHIP -- In a move that would form the largest multi-specialty group medical practice in the Pittsburgh area, East Suburban Medical Associates Inc. and Multi-Care Medical Associates Inc. and Multi-Care Medical Associates Inc. have agreed to merge.

The merger, which will initially have 28 physicians in nine specialties, is expected to close by July 1, according to Alan Green, executive director of East Suburban Medical Associates.

East Suburban Medical Associates now has 21 physicians representing nine specialties, while Multi-Care Medical Associates has seven physicians in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
