Photographer Steven Katzman did not expect his life to be so profoundly changed when he began photographing evangelical Christian tent revival meetings in Florida and Toronto.

Katzman, who had grown up in a conservative Jewish family in Omaha, Neb., had fallen away from his faith.

But while taking photographs at a revival meeting at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, he found himself in the grips of a personal epiphany and a spiritual challenge to open his heart, come back to God and offer forgiveness to three key people in his life: his son, whom he'd kicked out of the house; his son's …
