May 6--The stock market will benefit from the increasing number of securities companies as many are likely to list on the exchange in order to raise funds, said Chuangchai Nawongse, chief executive officer of Globlex Securities.
Competition in the brokerage business has intensified recently with many new companies obtaining brokerage licences. There are currently 38 member brokers on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, which plans to temporarily cap the number of members at 40 once two more approved companies open later this year.
